The MPs also called for presidential and parliamentary elections to be held as soon as possible to end Libya's transitional periods. They stressed the importance of judicial independence and institutional unity, rejecting any measures that could deepen divisions within the judiciary.
The signatories emphasized that their call to convene parliamentary sessions in Tripoli was not intended to favor one city over another. Rather, they said, it aimed to free legislative decision-making from pressure and restore the authority of civilian institutions and the will of the people's representatives.
Earlier, Al-Zawiya MP Ali Abu Zriba said he did not recognize the election of a new House leadership and called on all lawmakers to attend a parliamentary session scheduled to take place in Tripoli next week. Meanwhile, several MPs alleged that the new House speaker had not been elected by lawmakers but had instead been imposed by the so-called General Command of Haftar's forces.
They claimed that the voting process had covered only the positions of first deputy speaker, second deputy speaker and parliamentary rapporteur.
