According to a letter released by the Prime Minister’s Office, the prime minister asked the IDF Chief of Staff, Lt.-Gen. Eyal Zamir, Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) Director David Zini, and Attorney-General Gali Baharav-Miara to launch a comprehensive investigation into the participants of the documentary.

"The film spins a false, misleading, and biased narrative that defames the State of Israel and the IDF globally and severely damages Israel's standing,” Netanyahu said at the beginning of the letter. The creators of NAZA, The True Story received certificates of appreciation from National Public Diplomacy Directorate head Tzipi Hotovely on Thursday, the Prime Minister's Office announced. According to the PMO, NAZA, The True Story "features testimonies from soldiers, refutes the blood libels against IDF soldiers and commanders, thereby defending our soldiers and the State of Israel."
