Apple TV is bringing live coverage of the 2026 Formula 1 United States Grand Prix to U.S. subscribers this weekend with spatial audio enhancements. Beginning Friday, October 23, the streaming service will broadcast every track session live from the Circuit of the Americas. The headline update for tech enthusiasts following the sport is a hardware-focused broadcast feature: Dolby Atmos spatial audio.

Apple is rolling out the high-end sound tech to its live F1 feed for the very first time during this Austin event. Up until now, subscribers received video in Dolby Vision HDR, but audio was limited to standard surround streams. Dolby Atmos support aims to separate individual audio elements, such as pit lane chatter, engine tones, and trackside ambient noise, giving viewers with compatible home theater gear, soundbars, or headphones a more distinct 3D sound environment.

Beyond sound processing, the streaming setup includes multi-view features that let viewers configure custom layouts. Fans can pin side-by-side feeds on supported streaming devices, tracking the main feed alongside driver cockpit cameras, timing boards, or top-driver track positions.

Meanwhile, Apple Maps has also rolled out updated 3D models for the Circuit of the Americas site. Race attendees visiting Austin in person can browse granular maps showing precise turn positions, grandstands, entry gates, rideshare zones, and surrounding landmarks like the COTA Tower.

For local fan engagement, Apple is hosting interactive activations at its Domain Northside retail location in Austin. The store will feature race simulators, hardware demonstrations, and panel discussions featuring racing personalities throughout the weekend.
