(Courtesy: Liam Daniel/Netflix) “The love match that started it all shall soon be yours to see, dear reader,” the official announcement from Netflix (and Lady Whistledown) reads. “Bridgerton” executive producer Shonda Rhimes is on board to co-write, showrun, and executive produce the series, alongside Nicholas Nardini.
Prior to the events of the main “Bridgerton” series, Viscount Edmund had passed away from a bee sting (he was allergic and sadly no one knew and there wasn’t much to be done in the Regency era). That left Lady Violet to raise the Bridgerton kids, Anthony, Benedict, Colin, Daphne, Eloise, Francesca, Gregory, and Hyacinth.
The first four seasons have mainly focused on the kids and their romances, but Lady Violet’s love life got a little attention in the most recent season as she was courted by Lord Marcus Anderson. They pair even got engaged, but Lady Violet called it off at the end of the season to continue her journey of self-discovery as most of her children have been paired off in marriage.
