The development series, called Lifting the Veil, gives players and game development enthusiasts a peek into what goes behind making a game like Lords of the Fallen II . The sequel has received major updates based on feedback from the original game, which was released in 2023. One update is that the game now contains over 30 fully distinct weapon movesets, which is twice compared to the first game.

Each weapon class offers unique gameplay opportunities, including repositioning strikes, infinite combo chains, and area-of-effect assaults. How Lords of the Fallen II is overhauling combat with new weapon movesets and abilities The latest installment of Lifting the Veil revealed how the team overhauled Lords of the Fallen II's combat system.

Mid-combo weapon-switching is a major gameplay update. Players can now switch stances mid-combo and swap weapons without breaking the flow of combat. The sequel also comes with new melee abilities, including more weapon classes, new counterstrike options, and a slew of boss weapons with signature attacks.

Players can now also add two quickfire abilities to their melee loadout. This means they can equip and use magic, ranged projectiles, and buffs without switching stances. Button remapping has also made it easier for spellcasters to equip up to four spells at once with one catalyst.

Players can switch to another set of four spells with a second catalyst, which will be instantly accessible as well. Replenishing mana will no longer require consumables. Lords of the Fallen II is available to Wishlist on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
