Experts in the power sector have said that it is important to use renewable energy to complement the national grid. The experts are Product Manager, DEIF, Anshul Alankar; Executive Director, Delmira Power Solutions, Dr. Moriam Jagun and Sales Head Engineering, Delmira Power Solutions, Engr Nmecha Chizu.

They spoke in separate interviews with New Telegraph on the sidelines of the just concluded summit of the Nigeria Energy at Landmark, in Lagos. Alankar said that the reality is that renewable energy is the inthing, and government policy also supports it. He said it was important to latch on it as early as possible, especially for the commercial sector and even for individual volunteers.

He noted that the grid system was not able to at least provide all the electricity and power needed for Nigerians and Africans, to maintain sustainable energy. “Renewable is an aspect of how to solve Nigeria’s power services. Nigeria has surplus solar energy and microgrids will help because you don’t need a huge infrastructure to bring the power across the country.

Microgrids are a more efficient way of handling the local, like rural places. You can create your own grid and you can also minimize the fuel consumption and maximize the sun, which is free. “So we are making products which are more close to the market needs, basically.

When we see that the need of the market is about microgrids and then more on the fuel efficiency. So all the functions and features, those are more closed. How efficient a system we can make where you can, like in microgrid, how you can say fuse.

How your battery can be more efficiently worked, your solar can be maximized. The priority should be mostly on renewables rather than fossil fuels. So our whole mindset is based on the same concept that renewables should be more than fossil fuels,” he added.

Jagun stated that grid collapse was a big issue, adding that the government was actually doing its best to address grid collapse. She said the alternative to grid electricity is renewables. She said: “We are the authorized channel partner for DEIF products in Nigeria.

DEIF is one of the products that provides electrical energy solutions across the world. And they have been in existence for over 90 years. We have been bringing their solutions into Nigeria and we have the expertise and also the structure to be able to do this.

So what they have is they have electrical power systems that coordinate, that protect and also monitor energy. Making sure that energy is efficiently generated and delivered simply, both for land and marine.” Chizu stated that electricity was the backdrop of industrialization, adding that it is important to have efficient power services in the country.

He said: “The few projects that we have done, a lot of people have given us positive reviews. And the market is looking very good for us. We’ve come from some top markets.

And now we are at the 3D. We will be an emerging company. We will be going into the expansion market, no longer starting again.

At least there is a household, especially in the marine industry. “Nigerians are friendly. They are very good to market energy proof products.

We have a product that helps you see about 25% of your digital consumption. It’s really now that our country is really embracing solar farms for shuttles.” Please follow and like us:
