Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court has declined to grant immediate interim relief to G. Pulla Reddy Sweets in its challenge to the suspension of its Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) licence, while directing the food safety authorities to conduct a fresh inspection of its manufacturing unit and submit a compliance report.

The petition was filed by G. Pulla Reddy Sweets, represented by its representative Raghava Reddy, challenging the proceedings issued by the Food Safety Designated Officer, Khairatabad Zone, Hyderabad, on October 28, 2026. The proceedings had suspended the establishment’s FSSAI licence citing alleged deficiencies and violations noticed during an inspection of its manufacturing premises at Sanathnagar, Hyderabad.

Appearing for the petitioner, senior counsel V. Raghu submitted that the suspension was arbitrary, disproportionate and contrary to the provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006. He informed the Court that the petitioner had already submitted a detailed, point-wise explanation on October 30, 2026, addressing the observations made by the inspecting officials and seeking revocation of the suspension.
