The Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) says it has sent more than 280 trucks loaded with flour and food supplies to Gaza to help address a severe bread shortage. The organisation said more than 190 trucks were dispatched in the previous week, while over 90 others were sent on Sunday. It said the supplies would be handed over to the Egyptian Relief Committee in Gaza for distribution to bakeries whose operations had been disrupted.

The ERC added that it sent an aid convoy to Gaza early on Sunday, carrying more than 3,676 tonnes of humanitarian supplies, including flour, food baskets, relief items, medicines and fuel for hospitals, bakeries and other vital facilities. It was the 302nd convoy from Egypt to Gaza since the ERC launched its humanitarian aid initiative for the Palestinian territory in late July 2025.

The ERC said it had maintained a broader presence since the crisis began, helping to deliver more than one million tonnes of humanitarian aid with the support of over 75,000 volunteers. Meanwhile, Gaza’s health authorities said in their latest daily update on Sunday that four new deaths and 14 injuries were recorded in the previous 24 hours.

The latest figures brought the number of deaths recorded since the Israel-Hamas ceasefire took effect in October 2025 to 1,551, while the number of injured rose to 5,573. The overall Palestinian death toll since the conflict began on Oct. 7, 2023, has risen to 74,544, with 175,692 people injured, according to the health authorities.
