Mamata Banerjee is likely to join the march of MPs of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance to the Rashtrapati Bhawan on Friday, October 9, 2026. | Photo Credit: Shashi Shekhar Kashyap Former West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday (October 8, 2026) said that she may participate in the Cockroach Janta Party-sponsored protest demanding the removal of Gyanesh Kumar as Chief Election Commissioner at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on October 10.

Ms. Banerjee confirmed her presence at the October 10 gathering before leaving for Delhi while speaking to mediapersons in Kolkata. “I may join the protest at Jantar Mantar scheduled for October 10, but nothing can be confirmed now.

We have maintained a relationship with them (the CJP) and have extended our support...,” Ms. Banerjee said. The former West Bengal Chief Minister has expressed support to the CJP over the past few months and CJP leaders have thanked Ms.

Banerjee for her support. The leader of the Mamata All India Trinamool Congress said that she also intends to approach the President of India on the issue of vote theft and Special Intensive Revision. Ms.
