NSW Police will refer a complaint around inappropriate content being shared to police in WA. A male contestant on the upcoming series of Married at First Sight has lodged a police complaint, allegedly over the sharing of content from a phone without his consent, according to TV Blackbox.
Police have reportedly spoken to producers. News.com.au also reports NSW Police began investigating the matter on Monday, August 24, saying “officers attached to South Sydney Police Area Command commenced an investigation following a report of inappropriate content being shared”. “Following inquiries, the matter will be referred to WA Police Force,” the spokesperson said.
As of last night, WA Police Force said it “believes[s] NSW Police are referring a matter to the WA Police Force, but at this time it has not been received”. Nine referred all queries to production company Endemol Shine, which is yet to comment on the matter. MAFS has previously been the subject of police investigations in relation to a domestic violence incident but no charges were laid.
