Nelson Dusetti , Research Director at the Cancer Research Center of Marseille (CRCM), Head of the Translational Research and Innovative Therapies Department, shared on LinkedIn : “Back from the 3rd Botton-Champalimaud International Pancreatic Cancer Conference in Lisbon! It was a real pleasure to participate in this excellent meeting, bringing together researchers and clinicians from around the world to discuss the biology and clinical management of locally advanced and metastatic pancreatic cancer.
Two days of high-quality science, stimulating discussions, and valuable exchanges with colleagues working toward the same goal: better understanding this disease and improving therapeutic strategies for our patients. We were particularly happy to share some of the research being developed by our team at the CRCM – Centre de Recherche en Cancérologie de Marseille and Institut Paoli-Calmettes.
Our work focuses on understanding how pre-existing intratumoral transcriptional programs influence the adaptation of pancreatic cancer cells to treatment and shape the evolution of therapeutic resistance . Understanding these mechanisms is an important step toward developing more effective and better adapted therapeutic strategies.
Special congratulations to Nicolas Fraunhoffer , who received an Early Career Researcher grant and had the opportunity to present this work in an oral communication. A well-deserved recognition of his excellent work and commitment to this project! I also had the pleasure of co-chairing one of the Early Career Researchers sessions.
It was particularly encouraging to see the quality and diversity of the research presented by the next generation of scientists. Many thanks to the Champalimaud Foundation , the entire organizing committee, and especially Peter Bailey for the invitation, the excellent organization, and the warm welcome.
We return to Marseille with new ideas, interesting scientific discussions to pursue, and opportunities for future collaborations.” Read more articles featuring Nelson Dusetti on OncoDaily.
