Kozhikode: Amid investigation into a major burglary at Kerala Muslim Cultural Centre (KMCC) office in Qatar, Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) has expelled one of its members from the party. The robbery occurred in Sept 2025, in which cash worth approximately Rs 8 crore was stolen.

The IUML state panel on Saturday announced the expulsion of Razak Kunnummel, through its mouthpiece, Chandrika Daily. Razak, also known as Rotana Razak of Thurayoor panchayat, has been expelled from the party and its associated organisations, including KMCC. A case was registered by Koyilandy Police on Sept 15, 2026, in connection with the theft of 31 lakh Qatari riyals from the KMCC office in Doha.

The theft was reported on Sept 18, 2025, at the office in the Al Thumama area of Doha. According to the police, four people who allegedly travelled from Keralam to Qatar were involved in the theft. Parappil Balakrishnan, a native of Koyilandy and a regional BJP functionary, had surrendered before the police in connection with the case.

He had levelled allegations against Razak.
