But after arriving on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S in 2024, the re-remastered collection has now landed on Switch 2, giving you yet another way to play this much-loved adventure. LEGO Harry Potter Collection is available both digitally and physically, bundling up LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4, Years 5-7 and all previously released DLC in one place.

The physical edition is a key card, however, so will still require a download to play. The collection covers the events of all eight Harry Potter movies, starting from Harry arriving at Hogwarts and going all the way up to the tumultuous events of his final year. Being a LEGO game from TT Games, however, don’t expect a straight retelling of the stories: instead, it’s packed with humour, tongue-in-cheek jokes and typical LEGO antics.

Over the course of the game, you’ll be able to freely wander Hogwarts, finding collectibles, secrets and unlocking new characters and more. From there, you can jump into levels where you’ll learn new spells, brew potions and ultimately fight against Voldemort. Playable solo or in local co-op, it’s a riot of a time, and even though we’ve played it multiple times across multiple formats, it’s a game I never grow tired of.

In writing about the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S release of the game , I said: “LEGO Harry Potter is one of my favourite LEGO games. In my opinion, it was the heyday of Traveller’s Tales games: it was one of the first releases to have a ‘hub world’ (Hogwarts), which you could freely explore outside of levels.

There’s so much to do, and even the basic task of completing the levels will take you a considerable amount of time. Count all the collectibles to find, hidden red bricks to locate, characters to collect and all that other good stuff, and you’ve got upwards of 50 hours of entertainment here.” Sound good?

It’s available now, either from your preferred retailer or on the Nintendo eShop, priced at £39.99.
