Two restaurants in West Fife that are all about pizza, pasta and passion will find out next month if they've won an Italian Award. Dunfermline's Casa Mia and Inverkeithing's Maurizio's have been named as finalists and hope to taste success at a celebration of the country's cuisine in Glasgow.
Casa Mia, on Nethertown Broad Street, has been nominated in the Scotland's Family Run Business, Scotland's Best Pizzeria and Scotland’s Best Family Friendly Restaurant categories. It is also in the final 10 nominees for Scotland's Best Restaurant in the East. Maurizio's, on Inverkeithing High Street, has also been nominated for Scotland's Best Pizzeria and Best Pizza.
The awards will be held in Glasgow on November 29, where the winners will be presented and all finalists will be present. Warren Paul, director of the awards, said: "We're so proud to help bring a spotlight to the people all over Scotland serving up really premium quality Italian food, drinks and hospitality.
"The standard seems to be higher every year as the best in the country compete for our coveted honours - and by having real customers voting and engaging, we ensure the best are actually recognised."
