Another day passes, and Dylan Larkin is a member of the Detroit Red Wings ...though he doesn’t want to be. The Red Wings have suspended their former captain, as Larkin made it clear that he wasn’t going to play anymore for the Original Six franchise, trying to push Detroit’s hand in honoring his trade request.

Many wonder if the Red Wings’ front office will buckle and get rid of Larkin, while the player seemingly refuses to expand his list of destinations, which is currently stuck at 10 teams. On Wednesday’s edition of Daily Faceoff LIVE , David Pagnotta joined Tyler Yaremchuk and Carter Hutton to discuss which side in the Larkin/Red Wings saga will cave.

David Pagnotta: I was given this until U.S. Thanksgiving before somebody budges, be it [Larkin] or the Wings’ side. So we’ve got three weeks to go or something like that, before we hit that mark.

I thought there was going to be an adjustment at some point around this time period. I know Elliotte Friedman was talking about that as well over the weekend. Obviously, it hasn’t happened yet, and they’ve dug in.

Larkin’s camp has kind of dug in. Depending who you talk to around the league, some teams believe that they’re still focused on Larkin versus [Simon Edvinsson], and some believe that they’ve shifted a little bit more towards Edvinsson’s side in terms of those trade discussions. Now, we all know he has until December 1 to sign, or else he can’t play this season, and so there’s a little bit of a formal deadline on his side.

Then, you have other teams that are looking at Montreal and Buffalo and Boston, and you know teams that aren’t on his list. Going, ‘Hey, please let us know. We want to make this happen.

Can he change his mind yet, or what?’ They’re just kind of waiting. So, waiting game across the board. I still don’t know who’s going to blink first.

Sounds like Dylan Larkin and his camp have dug their heels in even more. My timeline is – this goes to Thanksgiving. I’d be a little bit surprised if it goes that long, but I think that’s the point where one side’s going to start to budge.
