Amazon users have found personal characteristics in their account settings that the service uses for personalization. One Threads user said that, based on her purchases, Amazon had assumed that she had a flat butt. The post went viral and prompted others to check what information the service uses to describe their profiles, The Verge reports.

What descriptions users saw Other users reported that Amazon considers them people who find it difficult to trust others, or people who find it funny when toys get stuck in classroom ceiling tiles. Other characteristics noticed included a tendency to swear when frightened and an inability to care for living plants.
