News Crossy Road Rush boasts 50+ levels of challenging obstacles. Photo: Atari/Hipster Whale The creators of Crossy Road are back! Crossy Road Rush offers high-speed adventure filled with environmental hazards, challenging obstacles and boss encounters as players zoom through more than 50 hand-curated levels.

The game from Atari and Hipster Whale launched Thursday, and brings the familiar Crossy Road Crew to the colorful island setting of Crossy Cove for an all-new platforming runner available exclusively on Apple Arcade. Another fun Crossy Road game joins Apple Arcade Shifting the classic Crossy Road ‘s signature Frogger -style gameplay toward continuous momentum, Crossy Road Rush challenges players to swerve, jump, spin, wall-ride and punch their way through vibrant island obstacle courses.

Featuring over 50 levels across its main adventure, dedicated survival modes and daily challenges, it retains the iconic blocky aesthetic while adding a fresh suite of high-velocity moves. Stay in the loop: Subscribe to Cult of Mac’s free newsletter for Apple news, reviews, how-tos and deals.

Designed for both quick solo sessions and group play, Crossy Road Rush supports up to four players in local co-op and online multiplayer. Hipster Whale says the game is designed for players of all ages and skill levels. And the developers promise, “The in-game experience combines evolved platforming mechanics and the franchise’s signature humor and charm into a fully expanded arcade platformer built exclusively for Apple Arcade.” Crossy Road Rush offers external game controller support across iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV and Apple Vision Pro.

Apple Arcade subscribers can also enjoy Crossy Road Castle . Instead of dodging traffic like the original game, players climb an endless series of rooms filled with traps, obstacles and other challenges. It expands on the original’s simple, addictive gameplay while retaining its colorful graphics and quirky humor.

Play it now! Crossy Road Rush is available now on the App Store exclusively through Apple Arcade, Apple’s subscription gaming service. The same is true for Crossy Road Castle .

The service costs $6.99 per month or $49.99 per year in the United States. A subscription provides unlimited access to hundreds of games without advertisements or in-app purchases. Plus, subscribers can share access with up to five other family members at no additional cost.

Apple also offers a one-month free trial to new subscribers. Ed Hardy has been writing full-time about tech for 26 years, and using it for much longer than that. His intro to Apple was a Macintosh SE/30 (which he still has), but now he uses a 13-inch iPad Pro as his primary computer.

That’s because he’s a “tablet first” type of guy. Rather than use a Macbook, he connects a keyboard case to the iPad. And instead of a desktop Mac, he connects his tablet to a 27-inch display and full-size keyboard. (So don’t try to tell him that everyone has to use a Mac to be productive.)
