This time, it was Pau Cubarsí who faced the media in the press room at Galatasaray' s Ali Sami Yen Spor Kompleksi stadium, where Barça will take on the Turkish side on Tuesday (9pm CEST).

The centre-back recalled his debut in Europe's premier club competition, back in the 2023/24 season, against a Napoli side whose attack was spearheaded by Victor Osimhen , who now plays for the Istanbul club. "We already faced each other on my debut, and things will be a bit different this time," said the Catalan.

Playing as a team Speaking about the opposition, Cubarsí said: "We're expecting a team that knows exactly what it wants to do and will give everything on its home ground. We have to be very alert from the start. There's a lot of pressure in this stadium, which makes things difficult.

We have to stick together as a team. We know their strengths and we have to focus on the whole team." As for Barça's current form, he believes the team are on a "very good run ... We have to keep it going and not slow down," he insisted.

He also believes it will be important to "keep a clean sheet". On the defensive side of things, he admitted: "We need to improve a bit in that respect, but we have tremendous room for improvement, and we'll get there." Ready for the team On a personal level, Cubarsí explained that although he is only 19 and still "starting out in football.

Age doesn't matter, I have to do the same as my teammates. I'll always work hard and give everything I can for the team ... I take the best possible care of myself and I'm always ready to play every minute." Finally, he spoke about his teammate Lamine Yamal .

"He's the best in the world. People can see what he's capable of on the pitch. He deserves the Ballon d'Or." Força Barça label.aria.forcabarca Força Barça label.aria.fire FC Barcelona club badge
